An hour ago. Recent Forum Posts PM. I had 0 problems with fan noise for 3 months and then a few weeks ago my fan became extremely loud while the game was running. When i would hearth or load a dungeon the fan would become quite while there was a loading screen. I started the game and opened up my case and slowly pressed on my different fans to test noise and that is how I narrowed it down to the graphics card.
Any solutions to this? All my fans are stock. Reply With Quote. Kinda depends on the noise. Is it clunking around, or just really loud spinning noise and wind?
I used to have one of my 3 fans on my graphics card blocked by something so the other 2 fans were spinning double time and it was really loud. And she was super quiet since then, and the fans are operating normal, but you know different manufacturer and different model of a card also you will lose the warranty that way I also googled for you for "EVGA Loud Fan" and people on various forums were talking about bios updates for the card maybe you should look into that.

Should this be the case for you as well take a look if the fans are spinning when they are loud and only 1 spins and the rest don't then you have the same motor issue. This is not really end-user fixable technically it is but most companies will void your warranty for doing so and you'll have to apply for RMA.

All are working. I didnt move or change anything. I didn't know it was a single fan variant that you had and instead of answering like a smart arse you could've just stated it was a single fan variant.
And what are the temperatures like when you're putting load on the graphics card? All times are GMT.Menu Menu. Search Everywhere Threads This forum This thread. Search titles only. Search Advanced search…. Everywhere Threads This forum This thread.

Any idea? Joined Apr 12, Messages 28, 5. Two things I can think of You can try to set a custom fan profile in something like MSI Afterburner and keep the fan spinning all the time. The noise is low enough not to be a deal killer, and it removes the fans desire to want to stop. It is possible that the spike in voltage when the fan is at rest may not be enough to kick it off. So running it all the time eliminates this.
Ok so i've been running always-on fans for a while now, and yesterday powering on the pc, i heard again too much noise, i went checking, and again, the same fan of the two wasn't spinning Could it be dust?
I don't know honestly.

Thing is, i might be having power supply issues, i just recalled that in the past 2 months it's as far as i can remember this happeninglike twice or three times, powering on the pc no fan was spinning, like the pc was ok, booted to windows but no chassis fan and, iirc, no vga fans, don't remember about the CPU fan tho. Might be something wrong with my PSU? But my pc gave me 0 problems even under stress, it seems to be just this thing at boot, and sometimes before i enabled always-on fans while playing.
Definitely a connection issue. If it starts again replace the psu. I hope it was only that bad contact, the molex plugs were a bit loose. I wouldn't imagine myself getting rid of this old beast.Register Now! Login Register. Please login or register.

GTX 1060 Fan issues
And I just noticed today, that even though temperatures was at 85 degrees celsius the fans did not start spinning. The fans never kicked in.
Could I there be issues with the card itself or have I seated it incorrectly? Kind regards A worried gamer. Hi again I can't get it to work with MSI afterburner either, however yesterday I opened up my computer and fiddled with the video card couldn't reseat it cause my damn CPU fan is huge and in the way of pressing the locking mechanism and it worked that day.
It was spinning whenever the temperature was above 60 degree celsius. This morning though it was above 80 degree celsius again and no spinning. Nichrome Global Moderator Offline Posts: I suggest you RMA the card. It cannot be fixed with software, sadly. I only take responsibility for what I say, not for what you understand. Any posts are my own views! You can also add your vbios so I could check for a later vbios but usually fan bearings are bad in case of such an issue.
Did you make sure the fan leads are securely plugged into the header on the PCB? I went back to the store and got a new card after some complaining. The new card works flawlessly so far. Thanks for informing us back Enjoy!Forums New posts Search forums.

If I had to guess, I'd say the temp sensors on the PCB might not be getting the signal thru of ya losing voltage somewhere perhaps die to some corrosion buildup Joined Jul 2, Messages 30, 6. Ok it happened again, i'll try cleaning it from dust, if it doesn't fix it, i'll contact the shop where i bought it or MSI directly.

However, in the majority of cases, the reality is that it is probably a simple mistake that the builder missed and the solution is simple. They come with a passive cooling mode that is designed to help them cut down on system noise. You can also install MSI Afterburner and raise the speed of the fan s manually.
Some first-time builders forget to plug things in. It happens. Check to see that your graphics card is connected to your power supply. If you have access to a known working power supplyinstall that one and recheck if your graphics card and its fans turn on. If it turns on, the original PSU may be faulty. From there, you can try installing the graphics card in a different PCIe lane and seeing if the PCIe lane on your motherboard is bad.
If you have access to another computer that is known to be workinginstall the new graphics card inside of it to test and see if it turns on.
If it turns on properly in the test computer, then it is likely that the motherboard in the original system is bad. Remove the graphics card from the build entirely and see if your system boots up without it. You can use a can of compressed air to remove any dust that has collected on the fans. If you have an aging graphics card and the fans are no longer spinning, then you may be able to squeeze some extra life out of them by re-oiling the bearings on the fans.
If the oil gets your fans spinning again, then great. Hit the button below to subscribe! Your email address will not be published. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
