Send this topic Print. Ptayls member Posts: 5 I'm new! I would like to get a larger saw like the Stihl ms and put a 25 inch bar on it. What put me off is that fact it has an adjustable carburettor and I would struggle to retune it when the need arises. Any help and advice would be much appreciated. Might be me but I have a strong preference for the adjustable. I replaced my several years ago to avoid the that was coming out and I would do the same in your situation.
Can't stand all this auto stuff. One more thing to break and on top of that there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that the auto tuning is running way too lean and folks are having issues. Maybe not but it sure seems that way. Are they easy enough to adjust though? Thanks for reply. The dealer has thst special tool.
So I ended up removing the caps and then was able to get at the adjustment screws with a regular flat screw driver. Real pain to remove the caps plus your warranty is voided when they've been tampered with. Unless you are hauling it up and down mountains or running with dirty air filters or junk fuel you dont have to screw with the carburetor to keep a saw running right. I rarely touch the screws on my saws once set, Ill bet it has been 10 years since my has seen an adjustment.
Echo vs Stihl
That being said the will have better anti vib and the Mtronic seems to be working well on the other models. I would bet that there will be a pretty big jump in price over the current and there is a weight consideration too.Forums New posts Search forums. I feel my xp autotune still doing the cuts faster. Of course I run the Husqvarna two year ago more and I can say it is broke-in or close to. Any thoughts on the ms cm? That is cool. I didn't know there was a non m-tronic version. I also have the 25" light weight bar. I do love my Husqvarna but I can see me using the Stihl more due to the weight. My husky is 15 pounds compare to 13 pounds of the Stihl it is a big difference. Since I had a heart attach due to high cholesterol and all the bad life the doctor said I was havingthe lighter I can go with equipment that I have to carry the better.
That is why I love my mscm with 18" bar. At Some times I have to bring out the big boys for some big trunks that I get from some arborist friends but for anything else the and a poulan with 20" bar and full chisel chain is what I use the most. Are they the best? Not for most but they are best for me because I like them. Nothing logical or practical about that decision.Forums New posts Search forums.
